Due to weather conditions,
our Giant Mermaid
parade puppet
didn't parade as planned.
She took refuge in
the Waterfowl Festival Building
during First Night Talbot
on New Years Eve
in Easton, Maryland.
A parade of fish and jellyfish
floated down Harrison Street
at about 8:30 pm
and swarmed into
the Avalon Theater
where they took over the stage.
After an announcement
was made urging the audience
to follow, the group paraded
back to the Waterfowl Festival Building
to witness the 9 pm Crab Drop
and to learn the winner
of the "Name the Mermaid"
contest.
The winning name was judged to be
"Sirena"
submitted by Joyce DeLaurentis
She's the winner of a gift certificate
from Crackerjacks
and a Red Dragon Marionette
donated by Dragon Wings
